“Hello, my name is Max Mason.
I currently live in Asheville, NC where I manage the cellar and QC operations for HI-Wire brewing. I’ve been in the brewing industry for nearly 7 years now and I have been a participant in our industries organizations (Brewers Association, Master Brewers Association of the Americas, Institute of Brewing and Distilling, etc.) for the majority of that time.
I began my education at the University of Minnesota, where I obtained my bachelor degree in Chemistry. I then received my masters degree in management from Duke University.
After trying technical and operations based work, I moved to Denver where I began my pursuit of a career in brewing beer. I began work for a brewpub and transitioned to a regional brewery outside of Denver.
We moved back to North Carolina to raise our son in the smokey mountains and I was able to join the Hi-Wire brewing team 2 years ago.
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share my experiences in the craft beer industry as I believe you may find many parallels.”
